Bride Customs in Bulgaria

Bulgaria is a nation rich with fascinating traditions. The ones that surround the wedding can be quite humorous, moving, and completely different from the traditional northern ceremony. While filming celebrations in Bulgaria, I bulgarian bride had the opportunity to witness a few of them.

One of the most distinctive marriage customs in Bulgaria is known as the “gelina.” It’s where the groom goes and steals his wedding from her relatives property, taking her to his own residence.
